Terms and conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. Using the site or placing an order will be deemed to be acceptance of these terms.

Payments
Online orders are paid for by credit card or debit card online in conjunction with Worldpay for the purpose of allowing secure payments. (See www.worldpay.com)
Full payment is required prior to despatch.

Black Mouse reserves the right not to fulfil orders it believes to be fraudulent. Where this is the case attempts will be made to contact the purchaser to advise.

Bespoke orders can be paid for by various methods, including credit/debit cards, cheques, bank transfers or postal orders. For UK orders under £50, full payment is required with the order; over £50 a deposit of 50% is required with order, the remaining 50% on completion.
For large orders, parts of an order (eg, Invitations) may be supplied separately from other elements (eg Orders of Service)
Payment is due on each element as it is completed.


All invoices are payable upon receipt. After 30 days, unpaid balances are subject to interest charges of 2% per month.
Full payment is required with order for all overseas orders.

Black Mouse retains legal title of all goods until paid for in full.

Delivery
Online shop:
We aim to pack and despatch from the online shop within 2 working days. If we can do it the same day as you order, we will.

Please note. For orders that are urgent or over £28 in value, the guaranteed and insured 'Rapid Delivery' option is recommended.

Please note: Despatch and delivery will be affected by Bank holidays.
Black Mouse also closes for Christmas and for two weeks in the summer. Closure dates are advised on the website. If you need further information please contact us for details.
Standard delivery will be standard UK first class mail for small packets, standard parcel delivery for larger packages. Delivery is usually within 5 working days of despatch but 10 days must be allowed. Prices are applied as table below. This service cannot guarantee delivery.
Rapid delivery will be sent via 24 hour delivery after packing. Prices are applied as table below. This service includes tracking and basic insurance. Delivery is next working day after despatch (weekends/bank holidays not guaranteed)
Overseas delivery is charged at cost and a quote will need to be obtained once the weight and destination of the package is known.
Goods will be despatched once postage is paid in full.

Bespoke orders:
We will send your order as soon as possible after completion. For large orders, parts of an order (eg, Invitations) can be supplied separately from other elements (eg Orders of Service) Payment is due on each element as it is completed and prior to despatch.

for small packets, standard parcel delivery for larger packages. Delivery is usually within 5 working days of despatch but 10 days must be allowed. Prices are applied as table below. This service is not recommended for bespoke orders as this service cannot guarantee delivery.
Rapid delivery (Guaranteed, insured and traceable) will be sent via 24 hour delivery after packing. Prices are determined by pack weight; Under 1kg £5, 2 to 10kg - £15.50. Black Mouse recommends this service for bespoke orders as tracking and some insurance is included. Delivery is next working day after despatch (weekends/bank holidays not guaranteed). Additional insurance is available if required.
Overseas delivery For orders below £10.00 a flat fee of £3.00 is levied. For orders over £10.00 delivery is charged at cost and a quote will need to be obtained once the weight and destination of the package is known.
Goods will be despatched once shipping is paid in full.
Please advise if you need the package sent by guaranteed and insured delivery.
You may arrange for your courier to collect ex-works. Please contact us to advise.

NON-DELIVERY
Black Mouse cannot take responsibilty for non-delivery, loss or damage to goods once they have left our possession

Items will not be considered lost by the Royal Mail until 10 days after posting via First Class, longer for standard parcel delivery. (Please see www.royalmail.com or visit your local post office for details) If the item has not arrived after 10 days from despatch, please advise Black Mouse in writing so that a claim can be filed with the Royal Mail. We regret that replacement items cannot be despatched until this time period has elapsed.

However, the rapid delivery option is guaranteed, insured and traceable by the delivery service provider.

Overseas deliveries can also usually be sent via guaranteed, insured and traceable delivery services to most parts of the world. Please ask if you require this.

Is payment secure?
We use Worldpay secure servers to ensure all payments are safe.
Should you telephone your card details, we guarantee that your card details are not stored in any way by Black Mouse once the transaction via Worldpay is complete.
Please do not email your card details. For your added security, your card details are not retained by Black Mouse in any form.

Online transactions

Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both the shopper and the retailer during an online transaction. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is highly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations.

The WorldPay payment system uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Furthermore, our public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that both the shopper and retailer can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.

Transaction Encryption
The transfer of the purchase details from the retailers site to Worldpay are encapsulated using our own encrypted and digitally-signed protocol. This uses a combination of standard methods such as PGP, RSA and MD5 to ensure that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof. Security for the Shopper Any communication between the shopper and WorldPay is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shopper's browser using TLS or 128 Bit SSL.

Shopper are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a "card not present" environment, by their card issuers. The card issuers provides the right for shopper to dispute a transaction if the goods/services did not arrive or if the card was used fraudulently.

Data Storage
Data storage on WorldPay systems, and the communication between WorldPay and the worldwide banking networks, is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment. We also ensure that we stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any third-party code we use, and continually review our own proprietary code.

Product design
As most of our designs are made by hand, not machine, a certain amount of variation is to be expected and this is part of the charm.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike, although we aim to make them as consistent as possible.

Although every care is taken to ensure products offered on this site are of a high standard, Black Mouse makes no judgements, claims or guarantees regarding products which are produced by third parties and offered for sale via this site. Your statutory rights are not affected.

3rd party goods
Black Mouse may from time to time offer goods for sale from 3rd parties. Whilst every effort is made to ensure these goods are of a high standard, Black Mouse makes no recommendations and takes no responsibility for the quality of materials or workmanship on these goods. Should these goods prove unsatisfactory however, they should be returned to Black Mouse in original condition (see returns below) for replacement or refund.

Substitutions
We try to be as consistent as possible, but it is sometimes necessary to use alternative materials depending on availability at the time. Black Mouse reserves the right to substitute items of similar or higher value, where appropriate, should the need arise. We always ensure that the design is not compromised in any way.
On bespoke orders, you would be advised of any availability issues and offered alternatives or the option to cancel.

All material on this site is protected by copyright. You may not copy, down-load and reproduce it or use it in any way for commercial purposes or for gain unless you first obtain our written consent.

Sales and Services
A contract for us to supply you with goods or services will only be created when we accept your order (which we may do in writing, by email or by fulfilling that order). Goods and services advertised on this website may not actually be available when you place your order as we reserve the right to withdraw services at any time.

We will always try to deliver goods and provide services on the basis and in accordance with the timescales mentioned on this site but time shall not be of the essence of those arrangements and we will have no liability if we are delayed in or prevented from providing the goods/services by factors beyond our control. This website is made available on the basis that there are excluded, to the extent permitted by law, any terms implied by statute or otherwise and all liability for any loss or damage however it arises out of the use of this website or reliance on its content.

Bespoke orders: Gold & Silver
Your order is not confirmed and work may not commence until the appropriate order form and payment has been received by Black Mouse.

You may therefore cancel for a full refund at any time prior to this date.
Your design deposit payment will be forfeited if you cancel after work has begun. Silver design deposit payments may be fully redeemed against the cost of an order over £50 for that design for up to one year from the design order date.
Quotes are fixed for a period of 30 days. A new quote can then be issued if required. Delivery is not included in any prices and is charged separately.

You may add or change your ideas while a design (not production) is in progress - such is the nature of the design process. No costs will be incurred unless the changes are very significant or require new materials or additional work. However, the design work will take longer. If this is the case you will be advised.

Changes while a production order is in progress may incur extra charges and prolong the production time.

Proofs
Free proofs will usually be sent via email or post for the client to check. It is the responsibility of the client to provide accurate information with their order, to ensure the proofs are correct and to advise Black Mouse of any amendments. Errors arising from failure by the client to provide accurate information or failure to check proofs will incur additional charges to correct once material is assembled, printed or fabricated. Errors caused by Black Mouse will be rectified free of charge.

Unforeseen Circumstances:
While every effort will be made to meet shoppers demands; cancellations or variations may be necessary as a result of Act of God, War, Strike, Lockout, Labour Dispute, Fire, Flood, Drought or other causes beyond the control of Black Mouse Ltd.

Complaints:
Black Mouse endeavours to offer excellent customer service and we hope you will be delighted by our products and services.
In the event that you do have a complaint, you should contact us in writing in the first instance at Black Mouse Limited, 87 Furlong Street, Arnold, Nottingham, UK, NG5 7AJ or email us at complaints@blackmouse.co.uk with full details of the complaint as soon as possible.

Returns and refunds
If elements of your order are unsatisfactory, please return them in original condition and we will replace them free of charge.
Refunds may be given at the discretion of Black Mouse Limited.
Discretionary refunds will be dependent upon receipt of the goods by Black Mouse Ltd in original condition.
We regret refunds are not available on bespoke items.
